Group Fitness For Adults Over 50
Boomers is NOT like any other fitness class. We understand the needs and concerns that Baby Boomers have about becoming physically active prior to and into their years of retirement. There is no need to “keep up” with the person next to you or attempt exercises that make you nervous. We have a very unique system that puts the “Personal” into small group personal training. To learn more about the program and why it’s different, click here: About the Boomer Program
You will be challenged in every class but never pushed beyond your individual abilities. We will identify what you should be doing but more importantly eliminate exercises that you shouldn’t be doing and we do that for every person in the class. The program is safe, effective and fun for those in their 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and beyond.
If you are looking for a very social and supportive environment in which to exercise, then now is the time to get involved. Classes are sold in packages of 5, 10 or 20 sessions giving you the flexibility to accommodate your individual schedule. If this sounds like something you’d like to try, then give us a call to get your name on the list for a FREE Trial Class. Boomers currently runs three times per week on Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30am – 8:30am
Class size is limited to 8. You can join us for one or all of the classes. Please call 905-852-6175 and we will be happy to get you signed up.
Boomer Booster FAQ’s
How much do passes cost? Currently we have 3 packages available. You can purchase passes in packages or 5, 10 or 20. The cost of each is listed below:
- 5 Passes – $67.50 plus tax – 2 month expiry
- 10 Passes – $120 plus tax – 4 month expiry
- 20 Passes – $200 plus tax – 6 month expiry
Please note that each package does have an expiry date. Passes must be used on or before the expiry date or they will be considered null and void. We do this for 2 reasons. The first is to encourage consistent participation. 20 passes used over the course of 2 years will serve no benefit to the participant with respect to results. Secondly, we have to keep the lights on! Everything we sell is based on some form of time to manage income. The business would not be successful if it didn’t. Just being honest:)
I don’t want to commit to any term or buy packages, can I still take the class?
Yes, just pay the drop in fee of $15 when you sign up. Keep in mind the class is limited to 8 and it is first come first served.
What age does this type of program cater to?
We tried to make the name somewhat age appropriate and generally promote it to a 50+ group. That said, anyone who has limited flexibility, poor balance or is experiencing age related strength deficiencies should really consider this service. The average age is approximately 60 but it’s more about ability. Because you are put through a movement screen at the beginning of the session, you will be working at an appropriate level for the entire class. This is the biggest benefit of this type of small group training; no matter what your age, you will be working within your own ability.
How often should I take the class to see improvement?
Honestly….as often as we can offer it. There is no substitute for the knowledge, accountability and motivation that a trainer can provide. Obviously we all have budgetary restrictions but the more you can work with a trainer the better and faster your results will come. As interest in the class builds the more sessions we will be able to offer. But for now, once per week is still going to get you fantastic results compared to doing it on your own or in a general fitness class that isn’t modified or designed to get YOU results.
