As the week winds up for everyone at Uxbridge Boot Camp, most were feeling sore so the Bully was nice...for at least a while!  After some core stability and spot mobility drills, four brave ladies ventured into the "Four Corners of Hell" only to find "Pukie the Clown" of CrossFit waiting for one of them: Round 1: 30 seconds each exercise, 2 minutes at each station before rotation TRX … [Read more...]

Garrett Styles

Today, at Uxbridge Boot Camp, with the sun peering through the clouds, we paid tribute to Garrett Styles, dedicating our collective effort to his memory with the Garrett Styles Hero Workout. As you are likely aware, Constable Garrett Styles, the York Regional Police officer who died Tuesday after a traffic stop, was laid to rest yesterday.  Being just a year older than Garrett was with a wife … [Read more...]

Today, at Uxbridge Boot Camp, there were a few folks (notably Charlene B. who had a run-in with "Pukie the Clown" of CrossFit fame) ready to sweat off the festivities of Canada Day Weekend in the morning sun at 6:30am! The Bully was in the holiday spirit as he shared his toys of torture (perhaps more than some wanted:), and moved the group through 4 stations: Station #1: Ropes and Side Rope … [Read more...]

The Uxbridge Boot Camp's June session came to an end today, and the rain stayed away long enough once again to let us do our thing in relative comfort. We hit a Medicine Ball Toss Circuit before performing Kettlebell Cards and then the "3 Musketeers Workout": Station #1: Ropes (Undulating and X-over) with MB Side Jumps Station #2: DB (Thruster and Rotational Squats) with MB Split … [Read more...]

The rain came and went as the sun came out just in time for another great workout at Uxbridge Boot Camp.  As we near the end of the 4-weeks, we took the opportunity to re-test how many push-ups we could do in one minute.  Everyone had a minimum of a 20% improvement! Great work everyone! After a DB shoulder circuit that left the shoulders screaming, we rotated through a 3-pronged attack of … [Read more...]

At Uxbridge Boot Camp, today the rain held off and we began with a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! song to Irina and ended with a visit from Mr. Freeze on the picnic bench.  Notice how happy everyone is that the workout was over:) In between, we paired up and performed Ladders up to 9 reps of Jump Squats, Push-Ups, Warrior Lunge, 45 Degree Hold Crunch, Jumping Jacks, and Burpees. After a Kettlebell and … [Read more...]

Today was particularly tough at Uxbridge Boot Camp, as there was little time for talking as oxygen was the order of the day.  After warm-up, we got a littler warmer as we performed a workout I call the "Gasser" (until Dylan R. finished 3 Rounds with Sue M. close behind): 10 DB Thrusters Left, 10 DB Thrusters Right, 20 Burpees, 30 Bench Step-Ups, Run a Lap Then we spent 20 minutes visiting … [Read more...]

As we head into the final week at Uxbridge Boot Camp, it's time to expect the unexpected.  With no tires in sight, some were relieved, but only for a short while as we hit a 10 minute Team Challenge Relay : Push-Ups --->Switch Bench Step-Ups--->KB Swings--->Run! Katie and Alex used their minds to drag their bodies along, while Donna chased down Mike with great effort! And then … [Read more...]

With another beautiful Friday at Uxbridge Boot Camp, it seems most opted to take the day off?  Not to be a Bully, but commitment isn't something you just do when it's convenient. Am I wrong? I'm sure those that showed up may have rather been somewhere else, but instead they chose to grind it out in the evening sun, no matter the "inconvenience." They took a step towards their goals, today. … [Read more...]

Today at Uxbridge Boot Camp, it got a bit explosive, as in Flat Speed Drills (3 x 20m, 3 x 30m) and Multi-Med Ball Partner Throws in which Sue M. was overpowered by Rhonda B., or "She-Man!" as Sue nicknamed her!  True blog worthy material:) Next on deck at Uxbridge Boot Camp was a workout I called "Jump The Line": Station #1: One minute each of Ab Zags & Alternating KB Swings with 30 … [Read more...]
