How to lift so you don’t hurt your back

In today’s post I show you how I teach my clients to properly execute a hip hinge.  A well executed hip hinge will shift your butt back so when you pick up a load it will travel up through your centre of gravity.  

This posterior weight shift is the key to saving your low back from unnecessary stress and strain during everyday lifts and in particular, dead lifts in the gym.  I also mention a cue that will help you visualize the movement.
